Representative Experiences

  • Successfully pursued anti-SLAPP motions before trial courts and Courts of Appeal to dispose of claims based on conduct protected under the First Amendment, including:
    • Represented a mother sued for defamation arising from her online posts about her daughter’s death, which led to the plaintiff abandoning the lawsuit.
    • Represented an independent journalist in anti-SLAPP litigation that resulted in the dissolution of a Civil Harassment Restraining Order imposed against the journalist.
    • Represented an individual who was sued for defamation arising from her written complaint against an individual who caused an accident that killed her family members, who was subsequently dismissed from the lawsuit when the Court of Appeal reversed the trial court’s denial of the anti-SLAPP motion.
    • Represented a dog owner who was sued by the company from which she adopted her dog for defamation and breach of contract arising from the dog owner’s posts on social media regarding her dog and the adoption agency’s repossession of her dog.
  • Secured summary judgement for a client in a corporate dispute involving multi-million-dollar fraud allegations.
  • Represented a general contractor pursuing breach of contract and fraud claims against a property owner, which resulted in a settlement immediately after the Complaint was filed.
  • Represented a hospice in connection with criminal charges for insurance fraud, which were subsequently dismissed.
  • Obtained a Civil Harassment Restraining Order following an evidentiary hearing for 11 employees harassed by their employer’s former tenant.
  • Defended a national mortgage loan servicer and trustee in connection with a petition for a preliminary injunction to enjoin the foreclosure sale of a property, which was ultimately denied after evidentiary hearing.
