On June 25, 2024, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors voted to award Brown White & Osborn LLP (“BWO”) a contract to provide court appointed criminal defense representation services for adult indigent defendants whom the Public Defender is unable to represent.
After a competitive bid process, and after carefully assessing BWO’s qualifications and plan for fulfilling the contract, the County awarded BWO the contract for the East Valley (with services at the San Bernardino Justice Center) and the East Desert (with services at the Joshua Tree Courthouse).
Under the contract, BWO selects and manages a panel of independent attorneys to provide these services. These attorneys are commonly called the “Conflicts Panel.” The Conflicts Panel attorneys, who are independent contractors, will represent indigent criminal defendants in the East Valley and East Desert Regions.
BWO is committed to managing the contract to assure that the Conflict Panel attorneys provide a vigorous, timely, and effective defense to their clients.
